Meet the Owner

Welcome to Kim Kare In-Home Childcare!

Kim Kare was founded by Kimberly Berrios, who is passionate about providing a safe, loving, and enriching environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

At Kim Kare, every staff member is CPR certified, MAT (Medication Administration Training) certified, and a trained childcare professional with extensive experience and excellent references. Kimberly holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and has been working with children since she was 14 years old in both childcare centers and family childcare settings.

Originally born and raised in New York City, Kimberly moved to Bristol, Connecticut, and proudly opened Kim Kare In-Home Childcare in 2021. Since then, Kim Kare has grown into a thriving, licensed childcare program serving up to nine wonderful children with the support of dedicated staff.

Our childcare program is located in a beautifully renovated lower level of our home, thoughtfully designed as a bright, spacious learning center for infants and toddlers. The environment offers plenty of room for children to play, explore, and learn while providing a clean, safe, and nurturing atmosphere.

Families can have peace of mind knowing that our program has received all required approvals and permits, including those from the Building Department, Zoning, Fire Marshal, and the City of Bristol. Kim Kare is also fully licensed and approved by the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood (OEC).

At Kim Kare, our goal is simple: to provide every child with a place where they feel loved, supported, and excited to learn every day.

Classes/ breakdown

Every morning at Kim Kare begins with our engaging and educational Circle Time! During this special time, children build important school readiness skills by learning the alphabet, numbers 1–10, colors, shapes, days of the week, months of the year, and name recognition. We sing songs, practice classroom routines, and enjoy reading one fabulous book together each day, helping to develop a lifelong love of learning and literacy.

Before Circle Time, children enjoy independent reading and work on potty training, encouraging both independence and confidence.

Throughout the day, we provide preschool-focused learning through educational toys, age-appropriate tablets, hands-on activities, and workbooks that support early literacy, math, fine motor, and problem-solving skills. Our curriculum is designed to prepare every child for a successful transition to kindergarten by following preschool academic standards.

At Kim Kare, we also introduce children to Spanish through fun songs, everyday words, and simple conversations, making language learning enjoyable and natural. For our infants and toddlers, we incorporate American Sign Language (ASL) to encourage early communication, reduce frustration, and support language development.

Our goal is to provide a nurturing, fun, and educational environment where every child is loved, encouraged, and prepared for kindergarten and beyond.

10:30-11:00 am: blocks/legos

11:00-11:30: recess

11:30-12 pm: lunch

12:00-1:00 pm: independent reading / table toys

1:00-3:00 pm: NAP

3:00-3:30 pm: potty time/clean up

3:30-4:00pm: afternoon Snack time
